About: Tom Moritz

Tom Moritz has worked as a librarian and knowledge manager for many years in government, universities, museums and research institutions. He bases his professional work on several fundamental principles -- 1) free, open and effective (i.e. democratic) sharing of knowledge resources; 2) the optimal management and curation of all forms of knowledge for posterity; 3) service; 4) a curious and imaginative effort to understand... His primary professional experience has been in the biology and the natural and earth sciences but he has branched as far afield as art history... He has been involved with environmental conservation for decades -- starting with experience as a teenager clearing trails in Angeles National Forest in the 1950's. He is an advocate for a wiser and sustainable "conservation dependent" world and has been a Buddhist practitioner for a very long time -- but, to what noticeable effect???
